Hello, I’m Sparkie!

I am a game enthusiast, overall nerd, and community educator who blends her passions, hobbies, and special interests in an effort to build community, expand perspectives, and encourage people (including myself) to live their best lives.

As a Black, neurodivergent, queer, disabled person, I am often a repository of random information, think pieces, and half-formed thoughts that eventually find their shape here. I blend intellectualism with personal experience and emotion to better understand myself and the world around me. This is my third attempt at a blog, and I think I’m finally finding a sense of peace where I am reconciling being fully seen, as I have started to live life more out loud.

I am divorcing myself from the need for the things I produce to be perfect in order to have value. I am divorcing the need to feel that my presence is solely for satisfying the expectations and needs of those around me.

What you’ll find here is an assortment of things (games, politics, culture, grief, joy, and whatever else I’m moving through) that I hope will inspire you, challenge you, or simply expand your understanding of me, yourself, or the world around you.

There will not necessarily be a cadence. I will post as I can, when I can, as I work to prioritize my whole self, both online and offline. Thank you for being here for it.
